I'm installing a 1983 6.9 into my 85 .is the oil cooler compatible with the 83 engine that was in the 85?

as long as it is a pickup to pickup interchange it should work. as far as i know, the only difference in oil coolers is between vans and pickups.

Thanks for quick reply. I have the 6 oring on the 83 engine and it is in bad shape so hoping to save and seal the 85. If not who has replacements?

Thanks I took my 85 one and took it apart. Orings were a little hard but since I am rebuilding then the rebuild has new seals and orings. The only difference is the number of o rings. Thanks for the help.

No it is out on the floor waiting for the rebuilt one. Just had to unbolt it. It would be tight with it in the truck. Just remove the mount and support the crank. It should be easy from there
