front shocks on a volare suspension
Hi guy's and Gals, I am feeling some bottoming out on the front end and I figure its probably the left front shock. I have a 54 ford pick up with a volare front end. Not quite sure how the shock comes out and if its an easy replacement. any thoughts on the matter would be appreciated.

ps Do they make a heavy duty front shock for the volare suspension and what would be a reasonable price for the shocks?

Depends on what year Volare suspension you have. You might need to remove a shock and cross reference the number embossed on the shock to find out what year group front end you have. Once you find out what year you have you should be able to at minimum get Gas filled shocks for your truck.
76-80 Volare shocks with Studs on both ends.
These simply have nuts on both ends (Sometimes they have Jam nuts to keep the nuts from backing off) to remove just get a deep well socket (probably 9/16") and impact wrench and zip them off. You'll need to remove the jam nut if they have them first.
If yours are like these Volare shocks, remove the nut as discribed and then unbolt the other end (held in with a nut & bolt) to remove the shock.
