I have a 2006 F-350 lariat. I bought the truck used and it has the keyless entry on the drivers door. When I purchased the truck I didn't get the code for the keyless entry. I have been able to find the factory code and it does not work. I believe that the previous owner has put a different code in it. I was wondering if anyone knows if I can reset the keyless entry code back to the factory code so I can use it? I have installed a Viper remote start/alaram on the truck. Thank you for your help.

 

the keyless entry code is not owner programmable. the owner can add secondary codes.

Even the dealer can not program a new code, they can only retrieve the existing code as i understand it.

Did you check on the computer/ECU for the code?

You can get a dealer to hook the computer to it and pull the code. They will probably charge 35 to 50 to pull the code.

And yes, you can use the keypad even with Viper setup. Just be aware you might set off the alarm if it armed when you use the keypad.

 

I went through this same thing after I purchased my 2006 & Larry is correct.
My local dealer actually pulled my Manufacturer Entry Code free of charge (which surprised the hell outta me, lol)
& after u enter the OE # you can then enter your own set of #'s if u wish

No, I do not think so. Your user manual says it is on the computer.

I do not know where the computer is located. Might be in the kick panel on drivers side. Maybe someone will say or post a thread asking where the location is.

 

My 2006 I pulled my code off that sticker and reset my own code. Dealer wanted 100 to do it. Took about 15 min and I was reset got it from the sticker that you can find behind the radio.

 

Can you push the last two buttons on the keypad at the same time and see if the doors lock? Make sure the keys aren't in the truck. You need to see if the system is working because I think the 77517 should be the code.

 

Be sure to push the buttons right in the middle,

have seen some try to push to one side or the other on the button to get that number but that is not necessary. Each button handles 2 numbers
