Headers

I should put this in the WTB portion of the classifieds but, seeing as dent sides can be a little finicky about header fitment, I'll just throw a line out here in our section.

I am looking for a set of full length fender exit headers for a 429/460 that will fit a 77 F250 4x4. The code is X00000 and it has the divorced transfer case.

I am going used to save for head work, go easy on me. If ugly, I will sandblast and coat, no biggie. Thanks and sorry for posting this in the chat area.

Beedub, I suppose you've looked at "Mad Dog" Headers already? They run $475 plus shipping.

I got a set for my 78 and they fit well with only slight adjustment. I test fitted before getting them coated because they come bare steel. L&L used to sell 'em but last I heard their coater was no longer. You might be able to source some from them as well but I think they are priced a little bit higher.

I tried maddog about 8 months ago. They wouldnt make me a set for the highboy unless I ordered more than one set. He said they were such a pain in the a$$ he really didnt want to even make them. I have been looking for a set for quite a while with no good luck.

Wow. That's too bad. Sounds like he shouldn't be in the header business any longer.

Havent really seen anything from them either. I have a set from summit but not really satisfied with them. Thinking about going back to stock manifolds.
