cheap set of headers

I just put a 460 in my 78 and I bought a set of headers from heddman that were made for the early eighties trucks. It took a little influencing, but they fit. If you have a standard tranny they will not work. The only other headers I could find were from hooker and they were about $440 for the headers and another 120 or so for a special mounting bracket. i called both jegs and summit both say they wont fit a 76 hi boy because the frame is narrower i have a set for a 2 wheel drive that the moter came out of and they like about 2 inches of clearing the frame rail

I am also going to be putting a 460 in my '78 F250 and I would also like to know if another set of headers will work besides the L&L headers $$$. I have a 351M in there now and the summit headers have a long down pipe and I really ran into problems with the tranny x-member and running dual exhaust down the passanger side.
