LED Lighting

Has anyone tried www.superbrightleds.com ?
I was thinking of using their replacement bulbs in both my truck and my Harleys.

Some sort of LED's came in the clearance lights on my truck I can't identify a manufacturer. They seem to work good, bright, don't seem to give off much heat under there. Only thing is the wire they use to make contact is just that, one wire on each side where the incandescent bulbs have two on each side and I have had to get into them and play with them to make contact. Of the five only one has one light that has stopped working. With three others on there you can't even tell. These do not have that fifth light on the top.

Those 9007 LEDs are 6700K color temperature - that's one way to have a blue Christmas with light hue.

When I clicked to get the specs on the 9007, a red box was at the top of the page, saying "All LED Headlight Bulbs are intended for off-road use only." While the LED lumens are higher than the halogen (impressive), the warning warrants wondering about the legality of driving with LED headlights as your sole source of light. The color temperature might play a role, I don't know yet.

On a slightly different note. I just got these off of amazon
Robot Check Robot Check
to replace some cheap aux back up lights that I installed last year. I have to say that I was very impressed with the weight and build quality of these.

nice find flavo. For some reason, i have NO backup lights. Anyhow, them fixtures fit in between the tailgate and bumper gap?

Also, want some led's for the overhead light.

With my contractor cap I can fit all kinds of lighting. Not sure it would work on a regular tailgate though. I can take pics or measure the light for you if you like though. I got them installed tonight with a relay triggered by my reverse lights. Going into drive in the dark, while it momentarily passes through reverse looks like a flash going off behind the truck. I LOVE it. haha

I would still recommend them though. I'd probably duck them under the bumper if I had to. It's hard to see behind my truck with that cap on.

Judging from the dimensions in that link, I don't think so.

You can find some nice 55w halogen ones at your local Oreilly's though. That's where I got mine. (mine are on a secondary switch so I don't have to stare at the glare when I have a trailer hooked up).

I was thinking of using the clearance, brake/tail, and interior lights. I already have Phase 7 headlights and spot lights on the Harleys.

Paul, I have been running SBLeds in my truck for about 5 years now with no problems. I would recommend them highly. One other advantage to using leds is less stress on your alternater.

I have no complaints about my current headlights (pardon the pun), but I'm sold that I wouldn't have grief if I changed over. I'll watch for at least one more generation of technology before leaping - only because I'm good right now.

I have done business with that website multiple times. I have never purchased LED HEADLIGHT bulbs from them though; just dash LED's, Door LED's, etc.

I purchased my LED headlights from Lifetime LED and theyve been great, i have all LED bulbs in my mirrors/cab lights from superbrightleds though...the cab lights i have had since my old truck, so theyre probably 4 years old now...a combined 50,000 miles and i use the running lights all the time. Still going strong
