Odd event, Android app/bluetooth adapter
We had a sick dog yesterday, took him to the vet 35 miles away. Decided to take the truck when we picked him up cause there was a station with diesel at 2.51!
round trip it will be 100 miles..
pick up the dog, get diesel, stop at target to get drugs for dog,
stop at mightyfine to get burgers for dinner (at home).
after getting diesel, I turned on the TorquePro app to watch for a regen as the mileage dropped from the low 14's to 12 ish.. yep, regen..
when stopped at MightyFine, I turned the truck off, but didn't stop the app.
(it never reconnects)
started the truck and off to drive home..
not quite out of the parking lot (100ft maybe total), twice felt like someone had tapped me on the rear bumper..
pulled out of the shopping center, 500 ft to red light.. speedo jumping all over the place!.. say what?!..
got a 30 mile drive home.
tach looks good, all other gauges look good.. speedo goes from 70 (actual speed) to 30, to 0, to 40, to 30, to 70... 1/4 mile, then drops bouncing all over the place.. used my phone to record it..
about 10 miles to go, I remembered the app... so I pulled the BT adapter out of the ODB port.. and poof weirdness stopped..
now.. I DID replace the BT adapter this year, my son, visiting, wanted to watch the data on his Mazda 3speed. so I gave him my old one and bought a new one.. TorquePro app has been updated too..
anybody else hear of someone reporting this weirdness? I thought the adapter was in read mode unless specifically being used to reset the codes..
but, it appears to have affected tranny and speedo at least..

I had something similar a couple of months ago. I have the OBDLink LX adapter was running Torque Pro.
I had gone to a friends house and left my phone in my truck with Torque Pro running. I didn't leave my truck running, just Torque Pro running and connected to the adapter. When I left I started having the traction control light (I think, can't really remember now) flashing. I was on a rough road so I thought once I got on the highway it would stop. However, it didn't. Finally turned off Torque Pro and it stopped. May have unplugged the adapter too but can't remember.

I've never seen one of these adapters cause goofy things like that, but I've heard about it more than a few times. Do you have one the cheapie Chinese-made things found on Amazon or eBay?
I'd suggest getting a better quality adapter. It's possible for Torque Pro to cause some strange things to happen if you have some custom PIDs that aren't set up right.

This morning SIL and Daughter take truck to go pick up a piece of furniture, same behavior (BT adapter still plugged in, no TorquePro app tho),,(7 miles)
also CEL now U00073 (traction control)
met them downtown, pulled the adapter..
no weirdness on way back home (7 miles)
I'm gonna reset it and go test drive. (no BT adapter)
