We talking ex-wife lawyers or just that breed of puke in general? (No offense directed or intended for any JD's who are van owners AND post here BTW. )

I'm in or near Columbus, Ohio but I think that's mentioned upper right hand side of my replies.

I kinda agree listing a location even if just the state or country would benefit replies to technical or performance issues so we could consider or account for climate etc.

E150

I bought a used E150 with the under powered V6. It's great around town. I put in heavy duty KYB gas adjust shocks with Michelin LTX tires all around. Parts for the E150 are cheap. I replaced all the brake rotors, drums, and calipers for only a few hundred bucks.

I put in all new Moog steering parts (ball joints, tie rods, etc.) The van has only 105k and it drives nice with all the new parts.

Gas mileage is about the same as everyone else. Depends on your driving habits. I have average 15 mpg for 20k miles.

It will do 20 mpg on the highway when there is no wind.

I like the E150s because the parts are so inexpensive and you can find parts almost anywhere in the country. Ditto for the E350.

Replacement Michelin's all around cost a little over $400 at Americas Tires!

I wish I had the 5.4. I pity my van when driving up hills in the mountains because it feels like it's a Toyota Corolla.

I looked at a gorgeous almost mint condition Club Wagon with a 5.4. The repairs records indicated 2 plugs had popped out. Like JWA said, it's probably improper installation.

I would have bought it, but it had electrical "issues".

Wish I had the E350 for the higher ground clearance. I do a lot of driving in the mountains on dirt roads. E350 seems better suited for for almost everything. It's a truck. I bet the cost of ownership over 10 years is about the same as a E150 since everything on the E350 is HEAVY DUTY.

Buy more truck than you think you need. Better to have and not need than need and not have.

My E150 is the "Miller Light Version".
