It looks like you could have 3.55, 3.73, or 4.10

None of the ratios are particularly special. 3.55 is best for highway fuel economy if you are not loading the van heavily. 3.73 is probably what you want if you are loading the van itself fairly heavy, or are spending time in the city. 4.10 is best for heavy hauling, towing, and in city driving (in terms of getting started.)

4.10 will get you the worst fuel economy, 3.55 the best. My E450 box truck runs 4.63 and the fuel economy is DISMAL. But its got a lot of grunt and will motivate itself from a stop even when fully loaded. This chart comes from the 05 service manual and is titled 'Rear Axle Pinion Angle to Horizontal'

Hi, thanks for posting that chart with the angles on it. I was wondering if that chart and the angles listed are for the drive shaft listed next to it or the pinion angle. You said that it was under "pinion angle to horizontal" but I don't want to misread that. I called the dealer here and he had a listing of 4 degrees down on the tranny, 6 degrees for the driveshaft, and told me that his 05 manual showed no listing for the pinion angle. I have a 1992 workshop manual and it shows all of that info. I don't know if he was just not interested, but if you have a specific pinion angle I would really appreciate that info, or if you are sure that the one listed is the pinion and not the driveshaft angle
Thanks again Andrew. 05 V10 E350
