Rim sizes?

Rim sizes?
Hi,
I'm usually in the dent section, but I have a question that this section can answer. Do bullnose F250s have 16.5s like the dents or was there a year that they changed to 16s that will still fit the dents? I know the vans had 16s but those rims are hard to find at the local yards right now. Thanks in advance.

When I looked it up on car-part, it did not ask if it was 4x4 or not. If it matters they usually do. Keep the center hole size in mind, but I am thinking the Fords all must have the large center hole. Be careful, dodge and chevy use the same 8 lug pattern, so their center hole may be different if you run across those.

I'm not sure on the history of the 8-6.5" circle, but it could date back to the 60's when they were still using drums up front. I would recommend aftermarket if your looking for alloy or styled wheels, but steroids can come from almost any F250 through 96, I think.

That depends a lot on your bolt pattern. Although Franklin2 is correct, the bolt pattern for F250 and F350 truck did not change until 97 with the introduction of Super Duty trucks. Unless you [i]require[\i] 16.5" rims, you can reasonably use any Ford wheel with the 8-6.5" circle as long as back spacing is correct. I'm going to aftermarket 17x8's to install 265/70-17's which will be 31-10.5r17 equivelant.

Actually the '97s were still the old 8 x 6.5" bolt circle. All '97 F-250HD and F-350 were still the old body style and still had the old bolt pattern ('97 F-250LD were new body style, but they were the 7 bolt rims, so no one will confuse them). Super Duties (with the new 8 bolt pattern) didn't come out until '98 (and even then I think they came out as '99 model year).

See if it's on your door jamb sticker. It may have a old type tire size designation but you should be able to plug that into a site like tire rack and they will convert it for you.

car-part.com is clueless.
D1TZ-1015-A (replaced C7TZ-1015-A) .. 16.5" x 6.00" wheel (not used with DRW) = 1967/84 F250/350.
D5TZ-1007-F (replaced D2TZ-1007-C) .. 16.5 x 6.75" 16" wheel (not used with DRW) = 1972/84 F250/350.
Here's the page from the 1980/89 Ford Light Truck Parts Catalog that shows these two F250/350 wheels for 1984:
