Can you send me a photo of the back of your alternator?

That is a 2G alternator and your truck takes a 3G.
That is not going to work without some rewiring.

2G alternators are prone to catching fire.

The 2G circuit:

i just found that the 2 lower black/orange stripe and upper yellow both connect through a fuseable link that connects to the battery side of the fender solenoid. should i cut out that splice and reconnect the 3 back up and see what happens?

this is the type of alternator that both '88s and the 90's trucks of mine(all 460) have had for years.

You should have power on the two black with red stripe wires, the Yellow wire with a white stripe. They all should go through the fuse links and then to the battery side of the starter solenoid.

Then with the key on you should have power to the green wire with a red stripe.

The 1993 F-series trucks should have the 3G alternator on them from what the Ford shop manuals say.
the 1992 had a 2G on the gas trucks and the diesels had an alternator with an externally mounted voltage regulator.
You sure you have a 1993 truck?

Try to pull the fuse links apart by hand and if they stretch they are bad.
