Factory installed 165 lb weight on first generation Econolines?
Does anyone have a picture of the factory installed 165 pound weight that was placed over the rear wheels to balance out the first generation Econoline?
I drove one of these for the phone company over 44 years ago and never heard of this weight.
The 1963 Econoline that I drove was a nice driving vehicle. Especially within the inner city. It would do U turns that other trucks couldn't do !

It's a rectangle with odd holes and recesses, several inches thick.
They were not installed the first few months in 1961. Many of those were retrofitted.
Special order Econolines, like for the phone company, could be ordered without the weight if they planned to carry enough weight in the back.
The SuperVans did not come with the weight, because the extra length provided the extra weight behind the rear wheels.
