I went down to register my new '55 F250 this week. Due to some old fuel issues the truck is not running right now.
The vehicle came in from Oregon into the state of Washington. Washington says I have to have an "empty scale weight" in order for them to give me a valid title, license plate and registration. They told me to put it on a trailer and then weigh the trailer empty and bring in the printed scale weight. GIVE ME A BREAK!!
Are there any resources on the web that could give me a factory weight rating of this vehicle? Anyone have a similar vehicle they can stop by the dump and get a current weigh in? Just looking for a solution because I want to get this vehicle registered soon... Thanks.

California has the same rule. However, they won't allow any proof unless it's done on a scale. I took the truck to a metal recycling facility and they gave me a weight certificate for a $10 fee.
I have a 56 F-250 with a 292, 3 speed, and 8 foot bed with big rectangular piece of steel sheet metal covering the bed floor. The sheet metal is probably 14 or 16 gauge.
My truck was weighed a couple weeks ago at a quarry when I bought a bunch of decorative stone, and the empty weight was just under 3,900#.
