Help me help a friend

Ok so trying to talk my bud into a 2015 F250 XLT with some added options. Problem is he wants all the bling features like leather, rear camera etc. so now he's found a 2010 F250 with the 6.4 King Ranch for 41k out the door and it has under 40k miles. Problem is this guy will not check coolant level and provide extra effort on doing Maint to his vehicle which concerns me. He's coming off 350k pretty much problem free miles on a Tahoe so not sure he gonna like the 6.4 long term. That being said mine has been good and since the one he's looking at is a low mile 2010 maybe it's ok. Carfax is clean too. Thoughts? By the way the new 2015 F250's are awesome. We have driven two now. Thanks in advance.

If he can get an extended warranty, pretty much bumper to bumper since he does not do his own maintance then it is a consideration.

Keep in mind that even the 6.7 diesel requires a fair amount of checking under the hood for some of the same concerns.

Coolant checks, same radiator etc.

If at a dealer maybe he can purchase a maintance plan on the 5K severe maint. schedule.

Thanks Senix. I ran the vin with my local dealer and only repair was a faulty cruise control. Looks like a real nice truck and my bud is on his why now to buy it. Still love my 08 and hope this 2010 works out just as well for him. Thanks again for your help.

Good idea!

He called last night pretty happy. Remember this is a long time GM guy so i still can't believe he jumped ship. We drove a few used and new HD Chevy's and he just kept coming back to wanting a F250. That definitely tells you something.

Well he got it and won't stay out of it long enough to get pics. LOL
I try to get him to send some tomorrow. We rode around today and man its like a new one. He's spent alot of time in a 2008 LTZ Duramax and says these trucks are much better overall in room, drivability, ride quality (which surprised me) and overall appeal. Loves the Ford interior design too as its very tough looking but super comfortable.

Here she is. Seats look like never set in and truck feels brand new. Original owner really took good care of it.
