That's a perfect photographical explanation of the install I have had in my head for a few months now! I'd been planning to install them onto the running board mounts just as you did, but hadn't had a chance to crawl underneath and take a look at the mounts in detail. Thanks for the photos! I'm looking forward to getting mine mounted up. Looks great!

 

Thanks. I really like the lights. They light up the running boards very well. I believe the project took me about 6 hours from start to finish. It was cold as heck. I used stainless steal hardware and took the running boards off so I could easily work on the trim pieces in the garage. From the date stamp on the photo looks like Ive had them on for 3 years now.
