Hard fuel line flared?
Well was out working on the truck this morning. Got the holes cut for the hi-low shifter and Front drive shifter cut out. But got stumped when it came to installing the hard fuel line.
SOLVED IT. Should have read the shop manual first.... will be flared and installed tomorrow...
Just curious why DC includes the ferrule for the Ford nut in the kit when it's not supposed to have it....

Taming the spaghetti monster!
More work done. After looking up how the hard fuel line is connected, went back out to flare the ends. Now, here's the problem. The Dennis Carpenter copper plated fuel line is only 1/4" line. For the flares to seat properly, it needs to be the correct 5/16 line. So the DC kit is useless for what it is advertised for. Going to run rubber fuel hose instead for now, and call DC to see if they are willing to make things right.
So in the mean time, started on routing the EZ Wire kit I got. Going to place the fuse box just above the D/S kick panel for ease of access.
Started by pulling the "front" and "rear" harness through the firewall to see what was what and where things very roughly needed to go. Used a few temporary zip ties to help keep everything tidy. Then broadly looked at the cab and instrument wiring. Here I had to make sure some circuits that were by default in other areas went to the right place (namely fuel sender and some light. After that it was becoming a bit tight to do the instruments, lighting, and turn signals all in situ. So I pulled it all out and laid it out on the shop floor.
Temporarily mounted the fuse block to a scrap of wood so I could pull the wires the way I wanted to clean them up. All the circuits I don't need will be coiled behind the kick panel and terminated for future possible use. The rest have been sorted out and grouped together.
Leaving everything g long for now until it gets rough mounted in the truck again, then out one last time to properly solder and shrink wrap connections.
Really pleased either 12v conversion kit from Vintage Auto Garage. Pricy, but the power generation 1 wire alt and their 6V reducer for the gauges seem well done. Might have to adapt the relay harness for the headlights as it doesn't look like it will work without a bit of modification with how everything is located.

Money isn't exactly falling off trees around here. But, I have been thinking of selling my M715 and picking the MH up. On the MH it needs floors and gauge has been vandalized. It needs the interior gone through. Mechanically I don't know. I'd like to get it and turn it into a flatbed. And I think it needs a winch where the old front mount pump was.

Well gents,
push has come to shove, and I'm offering up this beauty for sale. Figure around 60-70% of the work is done, and the major investments have been made. the ad is up on the for sale page, or over on the Crackbook if you are part of some of the Ford groups there. PM me with any questions.
