2005 Navigator Message Center Question

Greetings all.

I put the Strutmasters kit on my 05 Navigator (69k miles) , I couldn't deal with the air ride headaches anymore. TOO much money thrown away chasing problems that were not problems and mulitple dealers flat out lying to my face asking for thousands of dollars in repairs.

I was wondering if there is a way to get rid of the "Suspension Turned Off" message that displays in the Message Center upon every start of the vehicle. All I can find online is for the older Navigators with a seperate light without a message center.

Also is there any changes in the speed sensitive steering when the suspension switch in the rear is turned off? Basically without the air-ride do I now just have a glorified Expedition?

Thanks for any info you may have.

FWIW even with the air suspension all you had was a glorified Expedition, and air suspension was an option on a Expeditions so the only differences are the motor tune, interior trim bits and HID headlights.

It has a message center, I haven't seen the Navi one, but I'd assume they are they same.

If you leave all of the air suspension components attached yet tied out of the way, then the message will not come on. If it's too late for that then ask the dealer if they can alter the programming for your vehicle to delete the air suspension option from memory.

They wanted to test that for two years on the high brow crowd before they decided it was good enough for the Expedition.

I tied up all the solenoids and they are still attached along with the pump. I just flipped the switch in the back off. I figured I was either going to have a "Suspension Turned Off" on startup or "Check Suspension" after a minute or 2 of driving.

Just wondered if there was a quick wire snip on a harness or other way to get rid of the messages.

So the only way to get rid of the message is to take it to a dealer?
