Return Spring

I bought a return spring from MACS and its too loose. I hooked it from the accelerator arm to the choke bracket. It also rubs on the accelerator arm. Whats wrong here?

There should be a place on the back of the carb where that spring hooks up.

It goes in a hole in the choke cable bracket.

The hole

I found the HOLE guys!!! If you flip the spring from what is shown in both pics it wont even come close to the rod.
