1977 F-Series runs then dies

I have an old 1977 F-250 Ranger XLT V8. It runs and drives good, but after about 15-20 miles it will die, but I can restart it and continue driving. It does this randomly. Any ideas? I had an '85 F150 with the 300 inline 6, it would do the same thing. I'd be open to any suggestions.

Sounds like a electrical issue, maybe a coil or electronic control module aka (brain box) on the dvrs side inner fender well.

Or maybe a clogged in line fuel filter? Could be the pick up tube filter in the tank?
