Trimmed fenders

I'm tired of the crappy body lift that the previous owner put on. It's coming out and I'm gonna trim fenders to clear the 37" tires. Pics of your trimmed fenders so I can figure out how I want it to look would be great.

The most of the time all you have to trim is the bottom front edge of the front fenders. But your issue might be in the lack of trimming area of the back of the front fender.

Here is an extreme route. I put the red lines on where I have seen some folks trim before.

Don't do it!!!! You have a really nice truck there. I would leave the body lift in until you can afford to have the suspension lift upgraded and then remove the body lift or get a set of 35 inch tires to go along with whatever lift you have now.

Once you cut the fenders, there's no going back unless you replace them.

Just my 2 cents.

Thanks for the pics 77&79.

If my truck was really nice I wouldn't be doing it. Bed is roached and fenders are already off a parts truck and half way to being ruined because the lameass body lift. Thanks though.

Cut em....79/37's /no lift...I followed the contour of the wheel opening and cut off a few inches off the front. Looks a little snug huh?

I had a little fun out back but nothing that was gonna twist it up any and never rubbed. I'm sure a big hit might turn out different. It has a 6" lift now with 44's coming....lotsa trimming soon.

It had 4" between tire and fender @ 12 oclock with no lift out front. Never noticed anything in the rear.

There is a guy on here that is also on pirate that did a really mean build on a woods truck. He trimmed the fenders to keep the truck low, but fit big meats on it. Pretty aggressive trimming that actually looked good. I cannot remember the build name or his handle for the life of me.

Anyway that is one mean looking dent!

Here's a friend of mines 78 F250 with 6" and 37" treadwrights. Front fenders are "bobbed" and the lower rear quarters angled.

With the fenders bobbed, it gives the impression of a taller truck and increases approach angle....very helpful on a big truck that ventures away from the pavement.

Higbean, I really like your camper shell!

61Steven, if you think of who it was I'd like to see it.

Fordrealdrive, thanks. I really don't like shells, but this one works out good. It'll be even nicer without the extra three inches of body lift.

I might just throw on the old passenger side and see if it fits.

When I got it.
