What the heck are these things.

So I saw these outside of an apartment complex on what looked to be a 77-79 f150-f250 it was missing a couple of emblem pieces and the back axel was of an f250 and the front axle was from f150 it was a very custom truck I guess but I think I would like to have these under my truck because of the trail riding I do in it. Thanks guys hopefully someone else has seen these.

Ladder bars. Drag racing, sled pulling & off road come to mind.

They're supposed to keep the axle from twisting...right?

Any idea where I can buy them. Or do I need to fabricate them myself.

Might check with Summit or Rock Auto. I know there's a couple of rock crawling/mud buggy shops up here around FSM...I can only assume there are others around the state; one of those kinds of shops might have a good lead on them for your specific ride. If your a good fabricator, and have the tools...by all means, do it yourself; more pride that way. That's what the did in those photos, built them the way he wanted.

They help control axle wrap. Superlift makes (last time I check) a simple one the bolts on top of the leaf. Googled it, summit & jegs were hits. I bet they are more drag race.
