Conventional 80W-90 or synthetic 75W-90?

I caught full synthetic 75w-90 on sale for a $1 more than regular 80w-90 gear lube. Is that ok to run in '01 f250's?

I don't see why not.....as long as the api rating is the same or better than what Ford calls for

Front axle only, rear axle takes 75-140 and if you have limited slip needs friction modifier or the additive in the fluid originally.

on my 05 and 08, Bently's comments were true. Not sure about your year vehicle.

It is the same for the 99'-04' trucks also. Sterling 10.5 recommends 75-140. The Danas recommend the 75/80w90.

Ok, I swapped for some 75W-140 and it says "limited slip" on the label and on the back is says blah blah for hypoid differential and limited slip use blah blah. So, I'm assuming I won't need any other additives.

If you get chatter from the LSD you will want to add some friction modifier.

I think I have been getting some "chatter" from it already due to low fluid. It will like the rear end is bumping sometimes especially making a slow turn.

you probably need some more friction modifier added.
