Yes. Turn key on and put wire on positive side and see if it runs.

Yes just to see if it will start it also verifies that the starter is good.

key on just cranking over, even when physically turning key while holding wire on pos

I would say it's something to do with pats. Try unhooking the batteries for ten min or so and re hook and see if the key works

update, started fine with my key, which didnt work earlier. Why is that? Please pass a beer this a way

Im bringing the spare key I bought for 100.00 back tomorrow so I can get a new one. Do you think it got comprised and locked system down until natural reset? What I can think of.

Do your fuel pump and plugs kick on? I had a problem yesterday wheni was dinking with fuses, I forgot to put #31 back in and wouldn't crank the starter, put it back, and BAM! Started right up

Key on if you want it to start. Key off to check for even cranking.

Hopefully it was just the key. Truck was fine in SF yesterday, thank God, sure is nice to have that AAA card just in case.
