Purchasing - 1975 F100, 2wd, 302, 3 on the tree
Hey guys and girls.
I am just in the process of purchasing (from a family member) a 1975 F100 2wd with a 302 and 3 on the tree. Very basic truck - no radio, no power brakes, no power steering, and definitely no A/C!
The truck was purchased by my Dad's cousin about 25 years ago as a "utility" vehicle to have at his summer cottage. This man was a master mechanic and expert bodyman. He rebuilt museum quality cars - Hudsons, Packards and the like. This was NOT one of his professional projects, lol. He did rebuilt the engine and did some (very) rudimentary body work and painted the truck (powder blue!). Since then, it would be a stretch to say that 100 miles have been put on it.
It has been stored in a garage. I will be moving it to my summer cottage where it will basically fill the same role and sit in my garage 98.5% of the time.
It's not a restoration project, just a fun and useful vehicle to have around.
So far, I have spent about 10 minutes looking at it and now won't be seeing it until the late spring/early summer when I go to get it. (This is killing me - I want it NOW!)
Love the forum.
