The box (actually both - parts truck too) is in pretty bad shape. Looking for a replacement, but as most of you know they are pretty scare. Like hens teeth.

Looks like it will be a box from the mid 80's

at least for now. For a hundred bucks - couldn't resist. I will keep looking for a dentside box.

Or get bedsides for a dentside to put on that one - the inner part of the newer box is compatible with the outer skin of the older ones.

Can I replace the skin from the top outside edge down or do I have to do the whole bedside, inside and out? How about the taillights and tailgate? Thanks.

The inner bedsides are the same, I think the rear post, near the tailgate needs a little modification to hang '73 - '79 bedsides on it, other than that I believe they are the same.

Check out the Crown Vic Viking 460 build thread, he is hanging the bedsides on a newer bed.

Thanks for the info, Shane. I looked at the CV build thread. Looks like a lot of work for a rank amateur like me, but I will consider it.

Anything and everything that could have been saved from the blue "riveted" truck has been saved. I got some patch panels for Brutus, including the roof if I decide to delete the sunroof. Also pulled some stuff off some parts trucks that a guy had advertised. Some to use, some to sell.

Box off the 86 almost ready for paint. Just for kicks and giggles the dentside trim will be attached.

Nice work!

I have a '75 as well but mine came with the straight six motor (300). I can certainly relate to the body issues, although mine seem to be less extreme.

Glad to see you are making some strong progress, CelticOne.
