2001 F-150 4x4 Super Crew auto OD 5.4
I just wanted to make sure I was posting correctly and see if maybe you folks have had the same issues I am dealing with - I do like these forums and have been helpful in the past - plan to become a supporter soon as well. I copied a post I wasn't sure it was in the right place so -
Weird rattle just intermittent during cruising - sounds like exhaust however exhaust guy and I looked - exhaust solid - who knows - it is disturbing though - 4x4 works, does throw a couple of codes one is a weird ignition code & the other is a too lean code - still no ping or engine rattles - just puzzled - truck does seem sheepish in power & gets about 10 mpg - shifts and drives good - no powerhouse like dads 97 king cab w/ similar 5.4 - now - dad does have a hyper-tech programmer installed - truck is night and day more powerful than mine - any way - I replaced one PVC valve that was stuck recently & the 4x4 actuator - went through a good mud hole fine - also placed on jack stands and all four wheels pulled ( lol not at same time ) seems very close to fixed - just a lil pekid on power -
Also replaced much of front end except pitman arm -
That darn crazy rattle that comes out of no where usually while cruising at 45 + speeds and sometimes at idle in gear & out of gear it will stop -
Crazy I know - lots of redundant systems on this truck that can fail - just bought not that long ago - putting lots of dollars in her & feeling like a possible mistake - however i like it a lot & want to get it right - any thoughts? 161K miles auto OD lariat - Had fords chevys dodges toyotas & nissans in the past - They All Break - Ya gotta fix em all - so any way just wondering if its a trans issue or a torque conv issue ? ok - Thanks everyone - glad to see you all here !
4x4 indeed does work!

Just asking around - codes are important however Midas Mechanic / Friend of family calls B.S. on the codes - says its a common Ford Computer problem - says you can code chase and replace parts for thousands - still have these issues & combo of codes - however not a thing wrong w/ ignition - no leak in intake or air filter assemb . . . puzzled however he is a ford guru and says - computer replacement fixes this when they come in with this... If this becomes an unsolved mystery I will just say goodbye and sale it - never had such ridiculousness w/ other trucks - last ford was a 1994 f-150 - was a tougher truck , plain and simple - should have kept that one -

Welcome to the forum
No need to get testy. We just can not help you if we do not have the proper info to work with. No need to delete your account, when you get the codes, post them up and we will be more than glad to guide you in the right direction.
Many of us have dealt with all different scenarios on these trucks. Having the actual codes is the best way start diagnosing these OBD-II computer controlled vehicles.
For example, just because you get a code for an O2 sensor being out of range, it usually isn't the O2 sensor that is bad, but something upstream is giving either too much, or not enough, fuel.
Have a great day!!

Ok, that code 352 for cylinder 2 tells you the primary circuit is in fault.
It can be... an open coil 'primary', the electrical plug is open, the wire /harness has an open or the PCM driver is faulty.
If it were a 302 code, the fault would be the coil secondary, the boot, the spark plug or even a cylinder issue.
As well, one code tells you a misfire the other tells you of a circuit fault.
Both result in a misfire as the end result but you must know the difference to trouble shoot the problem..
Hope you see the value of the differences in what the codes mean.
Good luck.
