Engine Swap

Engine Swap
Hello, I need advise. No I don't want to keep the efi. I have a 1987 f-250 4x4 with a bad 351w engine. Its carburetor-ed with all the California emissions. I bought another 351w with low miles for the swap. The new engine has efi and I want to change over to my carburetor system. I bought a new hei distributor. As I study the new motor I wonder what parts of the emissions if any I need to keep. The heads have a connection with a tube that runs between the heads on the back. How does this get blocked off just cut tube and weld shut. I'm sure this has been done before. Is there a issue with the transmission. Any help would be appreciated. THX David

Yeah just strip all the EFI stuff off(upper and lower intake and everything attached to it, remove the air tube across the back of the heads and plug the holes in the heads with 5/8" x 1.5" coarse thread bolts with copper washers to seal(RTV will just burn off).
And you're not in Cali I take it so you can lose all the emissions stuff on your carbed setup too and use a plane ole 4bbl carb and intake.
