Hi, just bought a '94 4.9. She's a beauty, love the truck. only thing wrong with it is a pretty major exhaust leak. My issue is that I don't know what the faulty part is called, or what it does, so I don't know how to research it. I believe it's part of the emissions system. It's a cylinder about 1 inch in diameter running along the cylinder heads. It has a connecting tube to each cylinder head and all these connections are loose on this part. It's located on the passenger side underneath the intake manifold. I'm sure someone will know what I'm talking about. Any tips for fixing this? Any ideas of the cost?
I don't think so. It's a long small cylinder and it has probably 1/4 inch metal tubes running from it into each the cylinder heads. The connections between those and this cylinder I'm talking about are loose. I'm not sure how to get a photo in this post, otherwise I'd be able to show you.
Here we go. The tube I'm pointing at is what I'm talking about. Where the smaller tubes run into it in the bottom is very loose. I can muckle onto the whole thing and lift it about a quarter inch. I should not be able to do that.
