Look at what I marked in red. I thought it was 202º not 200º

The title of this thread calls it 200.

Mishimoto calls it a 200.

Ford 6.0L Powerstroke High-Temperature Thermostat, 2003?2007

Am I missing something in your reasoning?

I was under the impression that all thermostats for the 6L were the same. I asked the ford dealer and they confirmed the tstats are the same and the housings. I wll post the pics when I get the package back from Mishimoto. Basically the stock tstat and was smaller diameter than mishimoto tstat and did not fit in the housing recess grove and if you just layed it over the wep hole was covered.

Do you have any idea where that housing you sent to Mishimoto came from? I'm just confused how a stock Ford t-stat fits it and the Mishi doesn't.

It came off of my truck. My mechanic got a new one when he got a new stock tstat since the Mishimoto didnt fit.
The mishimoto tstat has a biger diamiter than stock and did not fit in the housing like the stock one does also the weep hole was blocked

Came back yesterday evening from an almost 1200 mile journey across The Great State of Texas in the Mighty 6.0. Over the course of the trip, I averaged 16.5 mpg on winter fuel. I could've done better if I wasn't doing 75mph most of the trip.

These are the temps before the thermostat maintaining 70 mph.

The following morning after installing the Mishimoto thermostat:

This is on the open road at 75 mph:

Other than a small leak at the thermostat housing due to me needing a new clamp, my truck runs night and day better with the Mishimoto thermostat!

It idles and cruises THAT much better, it's amazing how much of a difference 14 degrees makes. I've also noticed that the Mighty 6.0 has more huevos when I mash it too! Between Matt's SRL+ and the Atlas 40, my truck seems to be burning the fuel MUCH better as I'm seeing less smoke and more of a haze.

I should add that the fan never kicked on either...

Even if you have a bone stock truck I'd recommend this as your truck will burn the fuel better with the hotter engine. One of the best mods I've ever made to my truck! I'll keep tabs on the next fuel tanks and see how it does.

Not good stuff
U think there may be something wrong with gauges--add 32° to the ECT and it's perfect?

Sounds like it might be stuck open. Did it seem to fit correctly in the housing?

What the......

Did the flange of the t-stat (the part that moves) sit in the groove in the housing when you installed it?

Ok,this is definitely screwed up. I took it out and made sure it was installed just like the ford one sitting on the bench. The wife is down at my moms in Va taking care of her so I boiled some water in her kitchen and got the temp gun, waited till it opened and bingo 201 it opened.Great, put it back in and went for a ride down Rt 18 at 70 mph and it never went over 150!@@#@#@#@$$%$%$$%put the stock Ford back in and did the same trip,188-190.......I give up,my new name is mush, defiantly a bad t stat

Per4mance,
You results are interesting. Mine held temp 200 until one day after hauling. on the hwy 70mph and it bounced (down only) then settled colder. Floats down now on cooler days. Longer warmups now. Will open at 200 and maintains if warn enough or working the truck. But having to block the rad when below 65ish on the hwy. Worked flawless until that day. Talked with Mishumoto about it. Thinking there is to much bypass into the rad. Recirc problems? Mishumoto told working as designed. Sounds like the stat is not seating correctly cold. Have not pulled mine down yet to see if something is up. Do like the temp control when hot enough.

I just got off the phone with Rachel and sent her a copy of my receipt from XDP. She asked me all the same questions as y'all,I looked at the factory Ford T stat that I have sitting on the bench and I think it's not seating the spring right in the stat......I played with this for 3.5 hours last night, got me stumped
