4.6 motor differences
I have a 2004 F150 heritage (old style). I bought it off a guy with a bad motor and the truck only has 56,000 miles on it. They guy claimed he couldn't find a motor for it because of it being a "heritage''. has anyone ran into this? what 4.6 can i get to work in this truck? what will need inter changed?

There is a rule about these motors that goes like this; take it out and apart to see what's there before ordering any parts.
There are too many changes over the years and during production runs from different plants that can trip you up..
Basically all you need is a new or rebuilt short block with the right crank bolt pattern to fit your flywheel so the total balance is maintained then put the rest of your parts on it so everything is there as before.
Good luck.

I didn't understand the question. Do you mean you found a donor engine, as in one from an '04 NEW (at the time) body style F-150? If yes, then just strip it down to the long block, and bolt on everything that is specific to your '04 and you're good to go.
