Headlights flickering

Hi! I have a 1981 F100, lately when I've been driving at night I notice my headlights, dash lights, and charging light will flicker at the same time, and even sometimes my headlights will flash on and off by themselves, anyone ever have this problem? Any opinion is helpful! Thanks

check the plug on the back of the switch, and the switch itself. they are known to get loose connection and burn contacts.
the good news is both the switch and plug are low cost replacement items, you can get both for around $20.

You may have two problems. The headlight switch and it's connector are known to have problems overheating, making the lights go out, and a steady pulsing of the lights(and the whole electrical system) can be caused by the regulator case not being properly grounded. This is the regulator for the alternator.
