My NEW 1965 F350

Just came back from Bismarck, ND where I picked up this solid F350. Needs some TLC but for $200 purchase price, I thought it was a good deal. I was the only bidder on ebay for this. It has been in the barn and the cab mounts are solid. It started up, but I couldn't keep it going. Probably will run once I have time to go through it. Numbers Dummy, could you decode this VIN? Thank you!

A working truck for sure.

Nice find, there is a similar 67 F350 here for sale, if had a place to park it and something to do with it, I would buy it.

Wheelbase has to be more than 132"........maybe it's been stretched?

Cool truck and a smoking deal!

Yea it is pretty long. It barely fit on my 16+2 trailer. I will have to do some measuring. Thanks for the decoding Number Dummy! The owner said he picked it up in California. The bed was manufactured in Long Beach. It still has the original mud flaps on it that says: "Paramount Long Beach". Thanks all!

At one time, there was Paramount Truck Body - located in Long Beach.

1965 F350

Well I had time to work on this this weekend. It wouldn't start and was not getting fuel. I determined the fuel pump was not working so I put a new one on and replaced a couple short fuel hoses that were way old. After some fresh gas it fired right up and then the carb was leaking from the accelerator pump. I went ahead and put a kit in the carb. After all that it fires right up and runs pretty good. Oil pressure is right at 60psi. Next I worked on the brakes. It didn't have any when I picked it up. There was not any brake fluid in it. I topped it off and the pedal came to life. I am not seeing any leaks though, so I am not sure where it had gone in the 10 years it had been sitting. So far I am making progress!

Wheels

This truck has 16" tires on it. They look like they probably came on it but I am not sure. I thought most of them had 17.5" or 19.5"? Does anybody know if these 16" all around are oem? Also the front wheels do not look to be two piece or multi piece wheels- am I correct in this assumption. You all are a great help!

Post some pics of your wheels if you can........16's would be widow makers or lock ring type .

I will have to get some pics for you. I was wondering about them being widowmaker wheels, but when I looked at the inside of the front rim I couldn't see a joint where they split. There was a lot of dirt though so I might have just missed it!

1953/66 F350's came with 16" x 5.5" - 17" x 5.5" - 17.5" x 5.25" - 19.5" x 5.25" 6 lug wheels on a 7.25" bolt circle, the only Ford trucks to use this pattern.

The 16" wheels are very hard to find.

I have 6 16 inch spit rings in great shape with radial tubes, liners, and tires looking for
a good home. They are 6 lug on my 66 F350.
