Got it scanned, Now it is (literally) toast

So I took my truck in to get it scanned due to a miss at idle. They scanned it and drove it 3 times but said they couldn't do a contribution test until they got it hot. I would say they got it hot enough. Do I have a case?

My beautiful truck in gone.

Wow, sorry to see that.
I imagine it's to early to tell what happened to start the fire?

I hope the shop was insured.

Good luck.

Man that sucks. I really hate that for you. I would make sure I got enough from that shop or their insurance to replace that truck with one just like it, and as clean or cleaner than yours!!

That is horrid to see. Luckily, nobody was injured or worse, but I would sure be looking for an explanation about what happened. Hopefully insurance will make it right. The challenge is always finding such a clean rig. Good luck.

Wow! That sucks! Yet another reason I don't let another mechanic touch my truck. I'm curious to hear about the cruise control recall though. If that turns out to be the cause, I wonder if you will have a case with the shop since it was a known problem that never got fixed?

Man that'll ruin your day in a hurry. Did the fire start in the cab or under the hood?

If it turns out to be the CC, you might be screwed, idk. Hopefully it was something the shop did.
