Tire Poll, looking at three brands, does any stand out?

They are a smooth and quiet highway tire. Although it says ATR on them they are week as an A/T tire. They suck in mud and snow and they flat spot when sitting for extended periods of time. The flat spots will correct themselves after driving for a while but they still suck in mud and snow.

I'm on my third set of Michelins on my Expedition, which I use for moderate desert off-roads and was just wondering about my scorpions for moderate desert use.

I have had a set of Toyo Open Country AT II tires on for a year and a half now. No issues, great handling and no noticeable wear on them. The only time I noticed any noise out of them is when I drove on a particular concrete bridge with the concrete walls close to the lane. Noise was mostly from the broom finish on the concrete, but it occasionally got too noisy to talk on Sync.

I know three people with ATR's that caused them issues, other then being a racing slick in any kind of slippery situation. chasing vibrations and tire noise that went away when they replaced the ATR's on their F-150's and one was a Lincoln Mark LT.
I can't stand the 22" Pirelli Scorpion's that came on my truck although they are not ATR's, next spring it will be getting Cooper Zeon LTZ's!

I just bought Toyo Open Country AT's to replace the Goodyear Wrangler AT/S's that I had on my 2010 Super Crew (116K miles on the original Wranglers!!). And for the price they were a hell of a deal vs any other brand.....AND during my search I discovered that Toyo/Nitto are the same company....so the highly reviewed Grapplers are made by the same parent company as the OC AT's! Love them so far w only a few thousand miles - and I found them $300+ cheaper than the next decent tire set installed out the door!!!

Very few roots for Firestone Destination A/T and I feel - its unjust. I am on the 4th set of them, after Pirellis and Coopers, nothing but a best to say. Excellent on snow (dust or deep ) or wet, and very quiet - my wife's Sienna on Hankooks, in comparison, sounds like tank.
