volcano carb solved ?

ok
so I took off my yfa from the 300-6, no emissions 79 carb.
put on my autolite 2100 a known good carb and it still did it.

(if you don't know what im talking about see my previous post)

so that only left the fuel pump...
I took it off and its a carter hi flow pump.
im the 3rd owner.
the guy I bought it from said it never did idle right...ran like it had a lumpy cam .

I think somebody put this pump on never meant for a 1v carb.
I bet the eec was just doing its best just to keep it running !

it wont be till tues till I get the replacement pump
airtex
standby...

It's worth a shot for cheap dollars but there isn't much fuel pressure in a mechanical pump to cause issues.

You are right, it must be the fuel pump. I am sad it took you so many hours, but I hope now you are good to go!

It was hard work, I know all carb work and diagnostic work is tough, but you did it!

please keep us updated!

Patrick Omally,
thanks for the support.
this was supposed to be a winter project since I just retired.
but I can t stop working on it since the day I got it!
and now I have a garage, no more working laying in the dirt and having to put it back together by Monday !

I just cant stand to have a vehicle that doesn't run...

You know what I see? I see a happy truck, because it has a great owner.
