wiring harness recommendations

So, my son's 54 is gonna need to be rewired. It has years of being hacked together. What is everyone's recommendation on a wiring harness? I have seen a set up from F100 Parts that is pretty reasonable. I have also seen Painless Wiring systems that go for around $400. Just getting some input here. Thanks!

If you are not going back original, the Painless is about as good as it gets. Personally, I like the EZ Wiring Mini 20 kit:
Wiring Harness
It's pretty easy to install, fits in a tight space, and has plenty of circuits for whatever you have, and whatever you want to add later.

Unless you are doing a Concourse Gold restoration, I wouldn't go back with original. I don't like the idea of the breakers or unprotected circuits. But that's just an opinion.

I used the EZwiring also, good quality and cheaper than any other.

Oh, it is in no way gonna be a show quality truck. It will be a driver. This wiring harness looks to be the best bang for my buck. Thanks for the info.

Has his truck been converted to 12V neg ground? All the aftermarket universal harnesses are for 12V -gnd. If you are staying with 6V + ground.you are going to be limited to a stock replacement harness. Another vote for the EZwiring harness. Speedway motors Speedway Motors, America's Oldest Speed Shop also has a good reasonably priced harness.

I used the Speedway 20 circuit harness (around $165). It went in easily and quickly. I could have gotten away with a 12 circuit, but I wanted the full sized fuses.

Yes, this truck has been converted to 12 volt and has an alternator on it now. Think I'm gonna go with the harness suggested above. Seems the most affordable for what we are doing. Thanks for all of the advice!
