SECURING AXLE NUT

2000 EXPLORER 4WD. HOW DO YOU KNOW IF THE AXLE NUT IS SECURE? It has a spring action. I used an impact gun but not quite sure if its secure.

Put a bar across two of the lugs to keep the hub from turning, and use a torque wrench, or torque it with the wheel on the ground before you install the hubcap.
