First off im not sure if I be better off here or in an engine specific 6.0 forum so mods move if needed.

I currently have a 2005 F350 6.0 with an edge juice w/ attitude cts and am changing over to a sct then retaining the mostly unhooked cts as an insight instead of paying more money for another edge.

My question is anyone else who did this, what procedure did you go through when taking off the edge? So far I reset to stock through the programming menu not just the arrows, I figured I'd drive it for a day or so before un-hooking the edge and installing the sct with canned tunes until I can get some custom ones. In order to make sure I don't get any problems from the un hooking of the edge.

Another question for those of you who have done something similar, how well does the edge work as an insight when it was made to be something else? Am I going to have any issues doing this? ?

 

Well, I took the edge off the ecu today and when I started the truck all I got was a message about not seeing the juice module. Now I'm gonna have to rip all that out and look for an insight on Craigslist or something. Anyone want to swap, my juice with attitude for an insight cts with eas options? (I doubt it but I'll ask. ) anyone know how I can make it work? ?

 

update for anyone wondering, (and anyone who tries this in the future and looks it up on the internet). I e-mail edge and they said to call in with the unit in hand (probably for serial number) but I didn't, I'm sure they would have just told me that the only option would be buy a new unit, or trade back for maybe 20% of what I paid off of retail price on the new... I don't think so.

Anyway, I got a PM from a fellow member here and we traded, so that solved my issue and he got a Juice with Attitude CTS for the price of his Insight CTS plus shipping to me. where I got the Insight for the inflated price of a Juice with Attitude plus shipping to him... which I, myself, think would be better than paying for a whole new edge...

Hint to edge, Why not just take the Juice with Attitude and let it "Tune down" from the stock tune to put it in Insight mode which would turn off ALL functions of the juice module??? We already pay way too much for the thing IMO....
