Acts like it was running out of fuel?

Driving down the road, 1/2 tank of fuel, it acted like it was running out. I switched to a full tank, it straightened up. It usually goes to 1/4 before it does that. I do have the same old dip tube problem. But could that cause it to lose fuel at 1/2 tank? Another symptom in having is truck runs like a vat out of hell sometimes, and like hell other times? It has 230,000 on the original HPOP. Could that be on its way out?

Maybe more of the pickup tube has rotted away, so it's starving at 1/2 tank now. You've been needing to pull that pickup out of the tank anyway; I think your truck is just telling you it wants you to do it now.

My truck does the same thing. Some days it runs fantastic and other days It seems like a total dog.

The symptom isn't temperature related, although it does seem that after a good long run at 75; the truck preforms better for a couple of days after.

I'm interested on what the gurus can come up with

Mine will run like crap, and then an hour later, on the same trip, it will start running like a scalded ape, the back to crap again. Back and forth. I don't know much about these electronic trucks. Kinda miss my good ole idi. Easy to diagnose!

X2 on that. The old idi was pretty easy. Ip, gp's or relay, return lines. That was about it
