Coasting in neutral vs engine braking
Hey guys, i have an '86 F-250 that has a 460 with a t-18 4 speed and was wondering if these trucks have a fuel cut-off thing like mentioned in the article i will link to. Basically the concept is that if you just shift to neutral and coast the engine still uses fuel to idle, as opposed to cutting off the fuel while engine braking. here is the page that talks about it:

It has a carb, so fuel will go in regardless of being in gear or not. If the engine is spinning, it is sucking in air, and that air will have fuel mixed in since it all goes thru the carb.
Later models do cut the fuel injectors off during decelleration, but they have a computer running the show.
