Drove a new 6.2 this morning
I am thinking about upgrading my 2008 V10. Had a salesman I know bring a 2014 F350 with the 6.2 up and we went for a drive.
Nice rig overall, but I'm not sold on the 6.2. Seemed to move from a stop easily and get up to about 60 mph with no problem. From 60 up it seemed like I had to lean into the throttle fairly hard. On a flat road running 65, I eased into it to get to 70. Would not accelerate until it had shifted down or at least unlocked the converter. Yet if I put my foot into it a little it would drop one or two gears and I think run away from the V10. So different than my V10 that just moves with a little pedal input. It did have the 3.73 gears and 20 in tires.
Is this normal behavior?
Am I just spoiled?
On a side note I drove a Ram 6.4 Hemi on Sat. I was fairly impressed with it.

I drove a 6.2 Lariat CC short bed a few days ago and was pleasantly surprised at the pick-up. Now, it ain't gonna beat the tire-shredding madness of my 6.0 running Eric's extreme street tune, but it will suit my needs fine and then some.
I also drove a 2011 6.7 with 133k miles - nice but I think I'm ready to move away from diesel.

Are you in TX? I noticed your username; I'm class of '92 myself. What kind of deal did you get and do they have any more 6.2s?

Howdy Ag. I'm in north DFW area. I went to three different dealers which all had the exact same MSRP and equipped truck (XLT Lariat). I ended up getting right at 13k off sticker, exclusive of trade. The two other dealers were 2k north and let me walk away, so I think I got a decent deal. They did not have another gas XLT on the lot, but I'm sure inventory changes all the time. I bought at Five Star Ford Lewisville. They also offered me the highest price on my trade.

I'm trying to get an idea of what a dealer can do as I'm looking at a '14 King Ranch versus a '15 lariat.
Do you recall the approximate incentive breakdown of dealer discounts and factory discounts? Dealers here seem pretty stingy.
Thank you!

Howdy, and thanks for the info. 13k off sticker is quite good for a 2015 gas engine xlt. The Lewisville dealer has a '15 Lariat 6.2 in stock too.

Thanks very much. I think your late model trade-in had something to do with the 13k off sticker. I suggested 13k off sticker for a 15 lariat gasser and the dealer was aghast. lol

I have a 2014 6.2 4.30 37x12.5 18s and the bigger gears sure helped the overall feel of this truck. If purchasing new, i suggest upgrading to the larger gears.
