Box Floor 1960 F100

I am restoring a 1960 F 100 and I am trying to decide what to do with a rusty floor. The floor has rusted through near the cab and also near the tailgate.

I have not been able to find patch panels for these areas. I would prefer to patch and keep some of the floor, but I am also interested in replacing whole floor, or using wood.

I would appreciate any recommendations. Pictures would also be great!

Thanks,

Robert Varner

I have the same issues with my bed (long bed). After adding up time, labor, materials.....it would be cheaper to find another bed. I found a replacement bed for mine with no rust out anywhere for $200.00. Can't beat that for time and money......just my .02 cents....

My plan

I plan to replace my 59 short bed floor with one from a late model truck. Its easy to find a clean "flat" late model bed floor.

This is likely the best option if you want to keep the existing box.

Donor Floor - 1960 F 100 Styleside Short

Thanks for the help. I plan to find a bed floor from a late model truck. Any suggestions on a make and model that looks similar to the 1960 floor and that will fit with the least amount of modifications.

Thanks,

Robert

Early 60 rancheros use the same dimension stamped floor grooves, I used a piece to replace the hole in the floor that was going to be fuel fill door

Thanks. I'll check out the two posts and add the 1960 rancheos to the shopping list.

JCWhitney carries a patch panel, or at least used to carry one. I used it on my 79and, if I remember it worked ok. That was a work truck, though, so maybe I wasn't too picky.
