I have a 56 truck that I bought that has a 272 Y block in it bolted to a T10 4 speed side shift transmission. I've had a difficult time sorting out the right clutch kit and the throwout bearing is always wrong. Any suggestions?
That is a picture of a Long style pressure plate and the Borg & Beck is "similar". Do you know what you have? Is it a Ford or GM T10? Are there any adapters in this set-up, modified components? God and the person who installed it are the only ones that know where the parts came from that cobed that trans into your vehicle. Pictures of everything including measurements of ID, OD, length of bearing, spline count and size of disc. Otherwise it is a shot in the dark and based on the response no else can provide the info unless you help us out.

Long style clutch pressure plate.
No adapters and nothing modified. Original bellhousing with casting numbers that came back as a truck with v8.
1.635-1.700" total length (roughly)
3.00" O.D. (total outside)
2.63" O.D. (bearing face only)
1 1/16" 10-spline input shaft
The throwout I have looks similar to the original we have been dealing with. Only difference is that the I.D. is way smaller. I understand what you are saying about the bearing being separate from the hub. The clutch we got the other day had a bearing that had to be pressed onto the hub.
