85 E150 302 V8 Engine spitback when warm while driving
We have a major issue with our 85 E150 Van, while driving we encounter engine spitback/backfire from the Carburetor while the engine is warm only, Won't do it while it's cold no matter how much throttle is applied or whether it's in gear or not, but when the engine gets warm (while in gear only) the spitback issue will surface. Gets worse the warmer the engine gets and will get louder the more throttle is applied but again only in gear, If I put the transmission in neutral or park it will not do it anymore regardless of how much throttle is applied. Been struggling with this problem for awhile, it needs to pass smog but obviously can't while this is going on.
EEC isn't showing any codes other then a pesky Code 31 which I know is EGR related, been getting that code off and on for years and it's never had an impact on smog. Carb was rebuilt back in 06 Don't really wanna buy a new carb as I don't have $400 + just lying around, thought about getting a junk yard carb and rebuilding it with a kit or just rebuilding this one again but i'm not sure where to even begin. Spark Plugs haven't been changed in awhile but i didn't think that would make much difference as this appears to be fuel related, and if it were the spark plugs i'd think i'd get this problem no matter how hot the engine was.
Any help is appreciated as i'm stumped here..

Sorry no one's come forward with anything helpful---maybe post your situation in the smaller V8 forums here? https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/forum55/
