body mount bushings

I'm planning on pulling the bed on my '78 this weekend and figured that I should replace the body mount bushings while I have the chance. Would you recommend I just go with stock rubber bushings of the prothane type, and if stock, has anyone used the ones from LMC Truck?

Also, if I replace the bushings from the bed, but not the cab, will the bed sit higher? How hard is it to replace the cab bushings (wihtout actually removing the entire cab).

Thanks
Frank

There are no bushings on the bed, sits directly on frame. Hardest part replacing cab mounts is separating the metal sleeve washers. Once separated just lift cab enough to get old mounts out and new ones in place. I used LMC bushings and they seem fine.

Thanks Hickory! I didn't realize that the bed just get's bolted to the frame. I guess I'll see that when I try taking bed off. It's my first bed-removal, so it ought to be fun.

Yeah, the bed bolts directly to the frame rails, no insulators or bushings used.
I used LMC mount kit too and didn't have any problems.
I'd go with the stock type bushings. The urethane bushings tend to give a harsher ride and they can squeak.

Also, since this is the first time you're pulling the bed, FYI, if its a long bed styleside, the weight with tailgate is 397 lbs.
