Transmission vacuum line

I feel like a dummy asking this, but I can't figure out where the vacuum line to my transmission connects to. I had my truck at the shop last week and they had the transmission out and seem to have forgotten to reconnect it.
It's connected to the transmission side, but I don't see where it's supposed to go to in the engine bay.

Vacuum line? Are you sure it isn't a vent?

As far as I know the only vacuum operated components on a SD are the auto hubs (if equipped) and the heat/AC controls.

It appeared to be a vacuum line, but I guess I really don't know. Mine has manual hubs, and the AC worked when I used it yesterday. It's hanging down by the neutral safety switch and runs towards the back of the transmission on top. Can't really see where it runs to but I guess it would make sense if it were a vent

That's the vent. It should attach to the top of the transmission. See the next post. There is no vacuum line to the transmission.

There should be clips that attach it to the ridges on the top side of the transmission case. One hose is for the transmission vent and the other for the transfer case vent.

Cool. I'll have to put that back in the clip then. I know I have a boost leak and I was hoping that was it. Guess I'll have to make another tester this weekend to find it

Am I stupid or is the top hose not connected to anything on either end? I just found this sitting loose on my trans. Ive got all the clips but why are the ends just open? or are they supposed to be?

The top hose connects to the transfer case to vent it.

Is this also true on 02 Excursion? I'm currently in the same situation. I see where the port is on the end of transmission but cant find where hose goes. Runs up towards engine but that's all I can tell.

This is a super old thread. But I have a 4R100 out of my 2002 Ex and it looks like the images above.
