Firefighter 1406 (Seth) recently upgraded from an E99 to a L99... you might send him a PM.

I think he posted everything he did on a thread... uh... I remember the thread title now: Give me your tore, your fired, your puddled masses.

I'm still wondering why people consider changing from E99 to 99.5-03 an "upgrade".

The parts for the later model are more widely available for a much lower price. Other than that, I haven't had experience with the e99 to notice any real difference. Seth needed something on his truck that wouldn't work with the e99 hardware - so he was forced into an update.

Sorry my early 99 spyder was sent to a fellow FTEr almost as soon as it was off. Apparently they are harder to find then I thought.

Parts cost was the only real reason I went with the upgrade. I basically almost
Did the entire swap for the cost of the international bellowed pipes for the early 99. That is what swayed me the way of the swap. And since I had to tear the too end down and clays billet plenums don't work with the early 99 setup due to clearence issues. That was the last nail in the coffin to do the early 99 swap.
