8th gen side mirror change

What year did they start using those plastic side mirrors? The previous owner of my truck swapped the door but the little triangle window wnt pop out all the way, it hits the metal bar that holds the side mirror, kind of a bummer.

^ sounds right. Has anyone swapped the "newer" ones for the old big triagular ones?

I kind of like the looks of them better but also thought about what would happen if you hit the mirror against a post a tree or something on those. It would probably tear up the whole door? The plastic ones however would just break off and not damage anything else.

I have a 1992 but I think the door is off another year, the guy did say he replaced the door, so he most likely swapped the mirrors out and now the little window wont open, so then 87-92 is the door I need, thanks guys

I believe the older-style "Swing-Lok" mirrors were still available after '92 as an option, tho.

I am VERY confused to what mirror you have? After all, full-size Ford trucks up to 99 had wing windows, so Every mirror (from a 1980-96 F-series )should work just fine

I don't know which mirrors you have but if you have these something is wrong with your door or mirror. I put these ones on my 88 F150 and they are off a bronco 2 so they sit tighter to the truck and I don't have one problem opening my wing vent windows.

I was clarifying that not all Ford trucks have vent windows pre 99 only the full size or F-SERIES cab and chassis. Etc. BUT NOT ALL FORD TRUCKS PRE 99 HAVE VENT WINDOWS.

They were also an option for Rangers and Bronco 2s. I have ones off a 84 F250 on our 84 Bronco 2 and ones off a 84 Bronco 2 on my F150 (posted above).
