51 f3 hydraulic box
Hey everyone I've got a dilemma here. My 1951 f3 that I'm currently tearing down has a hydraulic box on it. Is it worth the extra work to keep it or does a guy just ditch it. The problem I have with it is that the box sits two inches high and two inches towards the rear. So I have a big gap between fenders and running boards and the wheel looks funny set that far forward in the fenders. Any ideas or opinions would be great on what to do.
Thanks

If you're going to work the truck, keep the dump. I have a flat dump bed on my F350 and I use it. My F4 had a dump bed but I wanted to install a script bed and didn't plan to work the truck. I sold that dump bed and mechanism to help pay build expenses.
So, what are your plans for the truck?

My plans are to build a original daily driver. Leaving as much stock as I can. Don't really plan to work the truck just everyday use. Just trying to get this truck on the road and enjoying it. Don't think I would ever use the hydraulic box other then to show people. Like I said my main concern is the box placement in the truck. It looks funny set up high and pulled back from cab. I'm guessing this is so the bottom of box didn't rub the back of the cab. Plus I'm not sure how many dollars are gonna be needed to make the system work again. Pump? Cylinder? Seals?
