How high is too high?

Hey guys,
So the trans in my 04 5.4 has decided to give out on me and i've decided to just go a head and get another truck. I've been looking for a decent 6.0 but I've seen a posting for an 08 6.4 with 230k miles on it for 13k. It's an ext cab 4x4 XLT, build date 11.09.2007 per ford etis. Its at a dealership so I'm assuming it has yet to have any deletes. Going to look at it tomorrow, but thought I'd ask y'all if this seems to be too high of a mileage to go with. I've always been told that diesels will go to 400-500k but i've never owned one myself. Any thoughts?

Lot's of miles for 6.4, >> so far, but it would need a good going over before I thought about buying it.

I'd look over the history and maintance carefully. The motor could do the miles but you would need to know what has been done to it to get there.

Emissions systems have made it difficult on us the owners.

senix and bubba are right....motor could handle it.. BUT WHO KNOWS how it's been kept up! Also just because it's been at dealer doesn't mean it hasn't been deleted before then put back together! I would comb through maintenance records if possible...

Thanks for the replies. I didn't even ask them for the records, it was running rough and blowing smoke on startup. I just left after that.
